A very sad story start to finish.

I just picked up this DVD from my library and watched it. I like these kind of movies. independent and modest budget. And I really like seeing actors that I've never seen before. What I'm disappointed in is the main character "Isa" is not very admirable and likable person. He comes across as totally self-absorbed. At the start of the movie I could not figure out why his girlfriend "Bahar" was so sad. But as the movie went along I could see why. To me it looks like he practically rapes his old girlfriend. And when the cabdriver gives him his address and phone number so that he can send him a print of the picture with him in it Isa says yes but then later throws the piece of paper in the ashtray. Not to mention he leaves Bahar at the end of the movie. The DVD had some special features and one of them was an interview with Nuri Bilge Ceylan. Who said in making the movie he wanted to make it true to life and that he acted the way some people are. A lot of people that have this personality often times end up in state prisons. And my final comment is that surprisingly a lot of women like guys like this. ?
