what happened at the end?????
I never got to see the end. What happened?
shareWhere did you leave off? He was down to 21 names left and trying to remain celebate as long as possible d/t Gillian de Raicx (Death Nell) being the last name on the list, but an accident caused him to go through 20 names in a day.
He hid at his house until the agents from the white room phoned to say they knew what hotel Nell was staying at. Then he decided to meet his fate and ended out at The Quality Cafe with Nell. They traded stories. Closed a funny loop (Gillian was married to the guy that the centerfold said was an *beep* and chose to check out together. Cut to the duo naked in bed, slipping a purple pill into each other's mouths and making love, with The End painted on the wall.
Then their son wakes them up, cue the narration about him settling down and living happily ever after with her, their two purple pills on a little display, coma victims waking up. No word on how they got the pills out undisolved or how they got hitched without anybody noticing the resemblance between the name and photo on the driver's license left at one of Nell's crime scene's and Roderick's new wife.
All in all, I thought it was a very cute movie with a very funny (and envy-inducing) premise. Well, not the crazy woman or the guy, but I suppose it's better than getting an email with a date on it.
What I noticed is that when their son woke them and they sat up in bed, the "THE END" spraypaint was gone.
So what I think happened--
Roderick and Nell/Gillian took the capsules, went into a coma, and eventually woke up. (A day or two later.) But nobody had found them while they were comatose and called the cops, so they woke up together. (As opposed to her waking up in a hospital, handcuffed to the bed.) Roderick and Gillian dated, fell in love, and got married. (And sometime in all that, they painted the wall over the bed. Also, Gillian changed her hair color from black to light brown, and grew her hair out.) After they married, Gillian still had unused purple capsules, and two of the capsules went into the shrine.
They died at the end, That why it says THE END, the next scene is a fantasy scene.
shareYep, most likely scenario, since they went to a hotel/motel/whatever (cause it wasn't his place they went to - his room looked completely different [yellow wall] and the room they wake up in looks almost exactly like the one they goes to bed in) and should have been found by cleaners and Death Nell would have gone to jail/psych ward.
Good call.
Unlikely since the character is still there narrating the story to us.
