Was it supernatural? I took it as the ghosts of the ghost town shut the church doors before Dallas could get to the van and El Mascarado caught up to her and killed her.
Did I miss something, or did something like this happen?

Dallas gets the church doors open, runs out towards the van, then suddenly slows and stops. Looking down, she sees that the metal pole she'd earlier rammed through the killer is now emerging from her stomach. Her legs give way and she collapses to the ground. The last shot of the film has the killer driving the group's van away from the town the following morning.
