So have they fixed the DVD yet?

Howdy, like many people I pre-ordered the DOTR DVD and was disappointed as hell to discover that it had a fault and worked on neither DVD player in my house (and my main player isn't a cheap one, its a What Hi-Fi 5 star award winning Pionneer machine). I returned my DVD and got my money back anticipating Sanctuary would quickly realize their problem and issue a new batch of discs.

So after hearing nothing officially for over two months, does anyone know if Sanctuary have bothered to fix the faults, or I am destined to not own a working copy of this DVD due to their corner cutting ways?

To be honest, the DOTR DVD is one of several factors that are rapidly undermining my once blind devotion to Maiden. The ridiculous price for their new tickets (nearly £80 for two tickets for Sheffield, I usually go to a few shows on each tour, but not at this price), shutting down the official BB, the incredibly poor quality of the fan club magazines and customer service (I don;t bother anymore after the last year I subscribed [2004] I didn't recieve my gift or two of the magazines) have all contributed as well. I love Maiden's music and I love the band, but I am generally getting the impression that they are in it for the money these days.

So rant over, back to my original question, has anyone who bought an orgiinal DOTR DVD who had problems subsequently bought anopther that has been okay? And does anyone know if there is a 'new batch' that will actually work as intended?

Managed to get this info from Maidenfans.com BB:

Hi there Herman Otterlei,

Sorry for the delay in updating but needed to be sure of the facts.

As you probably have read the Fault on the Maiden DVD Stereo Disc has now been located and the Tech Heads are half way to solving the problem. (See Iron Maiden website for more info)

The new Stereo Disc will be rigourously tested at all stages. This is because of all the effects the lads use in the show produces a vast ammount of information that needs to digitalised.

After all the testing the replacement Stereo Disc will be available and I will contact you individually to confirm dispatch.

Thank you for your paitence.

The surround sound disc is not faulty.

Speak soon and keep an eye on the Maiden site as more Tour Dates will be confirmed soon. Might see you at a gig? and you can give me an ear bending.

UP THE IRONS!!!!!

Tim

Hey OP:

I think they fixed the flaw. I got it recently and it worked in my DVD player. Honestly, though it's edited in such a way as to give one an unbelievable headache. Performances are very good though! I'd stick with it on CD. Up the Irons!
