What was the deal with the high ranking North Korean officer that is all nice to the SEALs? how does he know that he was a SEAL in the first place and why did he all of sudden give what seems like a promotion to that chubby North Korean soldier right before the climax?
He understood that Kim Jong Il was a lunatic and the nuclear silo would only cause NK more problems. He wanted to see the reunification of the two countries rather than his people continue to starve to death. He wanted to nuke destroyed too.
