I tought this movie was going to be better but no ...it was boring since the beginnig and that guy simon ... why he didnt know how to talk or respond people , got hot watching his mother boob ..( that was weird) ...the woman that lost her kid we never know how he died, and the husband is he stupid or what asking if she was going to *beep* another guy ..

I know this is a very old post but I am responding anyway. And, no, I have nothing better to do due to being home-bound by a serious medical condition.
Simon was emotionally stunted due to his mother's daily subtle (sometimes not so subtle) sexual abuse. He had social difficulties particularly with the opposite sex due to his mother using him as a substitute husband/lover.
We see clearly how the child died. Rose was on the phone (distracted) and walked away from her son while he was playing in his room. He dropped his toy out the window and climbed out to get it and apparently fell to his death.
If more people (don't know your age but I am sure you must have been very young when you wrote the original post more than five years ago--or at least I hope that explains your stunted ability to understand this film) would actually pay attention to a film they might understand the understated meaning behind what is going on within said film.
