Cringe Inducing

Love the premise of this show, and I've tried to stick with it as there are aspects of the storyline that work well - but between the over-acting (particularly Nesbitt), bad accents, bad sets and concocted scenes - I can't recommend this show to anyone.

Listening to Nesbitt's 'Daddy' is on the cringe level of hearing 'Claire-bear' over and over again in 'Heroes'. Yes, we get it, Mr. Hyde is psychotic. And, yes, we understand that because the make up department had nothing else to work with than black hair dye to differentiate the 2 characters, you've got to go over top a little bit. But this is pure schlock. It's like watching a bad Jim Carrey movie - you know, the ones where he doesn't know how to turn off his In Living Color routines for the sake of the movie. Yeah - a bad version of that.

Still have one more episode, and I'll stick with it until the bitter end because I chain watch shows while I work out, and usually once I start, I stick with it because - well, I don't know. I did stick with one season of Revolution, and if I can do that, surely I can handle a 6th episode of Jekyll.

Thank god there are no more.

I just finished the serie and I cant belive how bad this turned out after the second episode. Nebitt as Jekyl was good maybe even great, everything else was pretty bad. The story was complete garbage most of the stuff happening didnt even make any sense. How this serie gets an 8,3 rating is beyond me and normally Im not a hater at all but this here was just terrible.

Now I remember what it reminded me off: Cable Guy...

Can't believe how much many people love this. I was watching it last night starting to lose faith in humanity.

I have not watched much British TV but hopefully this is not indicative of the best stuff. (With an IMDB of 8.2 I expected this to be top TV). Comparing it to Breaking Bad, Dexter, Twin Peaks etc it's laughable.

Yeah, it's a big old mess. The basic concept does have potential but they're going to have to weed out the inconsistencies and make a really strong, memorable narrative or they'll just end up with another, bigger and more expensive mess on their hands.
