Do the pros even like Jamie Gold?

What does everyone think about the pros vs. Jamie Gold?

From what I've seen, when he caused that fiasco about the money with Mike "The Mouth" and he walked away from the table, Doyle made the comment "Are you all crazy?" about lending Jamie Gold money? This have anything to due with the lawsuit against Gold?

Then, when Negraneau was the commentator, he made a comment about a "Goofy" move.

I hope Paul Wasicka gets him for revenge.

I don't think they have a problem with him as a person. I seriously doubt their respect level for him as a player is very high though. It doesn't seem that Doyle has any problems with Jamie, he probably just didn't wanna loan somebody money like that. If it was anybody else at the table, it probably wouldn't have been a problem because he sees them all everyday in vegas. That's just the way I see it. Maybe you guys have a different take on it

doyle doesn't like anyone playing behind....they have referenced this before.

It just was a goofy move :)

Doyle Bronson is very smart, and i think he just doesn`t trust a man who doesn`t keep his promises. I would`t either, even if he has just 6 million now.

Doyle seems to get angry very easily. If you remember, he also called Ted Forrest an idiot back in season two I think. The guy gets a lot of respect in the poker world, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily a nice guy. I felt like I was being taken when I got super system two, especially for the NL holdem section, only to discover that it was the exact same (word for word) as the original supersystem. I've been skeptical of Doyle's integrity ever since.

Anyways, I don't think the pros dislike Jamie Gold. If I were a pro, I'd be especially nice to Jamie so he plays as much as he can with me. I don't think he gets the same respect as some of the other pros because he is definatley one of the weaker ones in the game. I'm not insulting Jamie's game since I've never played with him, but even if he was good enough to play with the pros, he's still inexperienced at that level, whereas those guys have been playing high stakes for years.

I think Gabe and Doyle have known each other for years. Maybe Doyle has something against loaning he people he doesnt know. From my experience with loaning money, it's not how much a guy has, it's how well you know him. I used to lend money quite often to friends at poker games or at my local casino. Some of them had lots of money, but they were deadbeats. I knew they would stall and I wouldn't get my money for a while. Others didn't have much but I knew they were good for it. I would have been skeptical about loaning someone I didn't know very well too, even if he did just win 12 mil. But to be honest, I didn't understand exactly what was pissing Doyle off.

The other thing I noticed is in episode #3 (I think - the latest episode that just aired). Anyways, Jamie bet his A7 against Doyle's AJ. Doyle called and won the pot with Ace high (kicker played). Jamie Gold started telling Mike the Mouth that he (Jamie Gold) didn't do a bad play. Doyle just sat very quiet and cleaned up his winning chips and gave a touch of a look to the camera. I don't think he has yet addressed Jamie Gold or offered him one bit of respect at the table. I may be mistaken, but I just got that impression.

They played together on Poker after dark. He seemed to show him some respect there

The way Gold plays in the cashgame the pro's must love him. It's easy money for them

Boy did his amateurishness really show last night. He seemed really uncomfortable at the table even moreso this week. I found it funny when he kept trying to justify his plays, and everybody else besides Matasow just kept their mouth shut but inside I bet they were laughing at him. He gave away so much money

I saw that. I liked when Jamie Gold kept explaining his Ace-high bet that he lost to Doyle. Jamie Gold is teaching them basic poker skills I guess...

In their first hand together in the first show, Doyle made a comment to Jamie about this being real money (as oppossed to tournament chips.) So Doyle has talked to him. But I don't think Doyle respects his poker game.

I do remember on the first episode of the WSOP main event in 03 Doyle was very unimpressed with the previous champs play and talked about how incredibly lucky he was to win it the previous year. The way he said it was not very nice, not just the usual 'fish get lucky' from players but more almost an arrogance that an amateur had dared win the big one. Of course back then, the actual edge he had was comparatively much smaller than the top pros do now against true amateurs.

At the moment you shouldnt expect too much of HSP since theres only goofy players on right now. As Daniel Negreanu mentioned in his blog on FCP hes heading back to the big game where all the REALLY REALLY tough players are. Im talking about Ivey, Townsend and Booth. Daniel says that these players are much more likely to do well in the big NL games since they have a bigger edge than people like Farha, Elezra, Gold(lol) and Wasicka.

Daniel talked a bit about the game with these players and he also said that it would be on televison in the nearest future. Not sure when tho.
