Major plot hole ( BIG spoiler*)

So right at the end the ghost of Abe kills Sherry (the nurse) in the ambulance by placing his hands on her chest and stopping her heart. He therefore prevents her being posessed and going on a killing spree.

Right through the film we have seen Abe (and before him presumably Caine) being haunted by ghosts trying to warn him that he is doing something bad by saving people and letting the devil into them.

So, if ghosts can kill the living as Abe does to Sherry, then why didn't any of these ghosts just kill a person who was saved before the three days are up? Thereby 'putting things right' again?

Or even why didn't one of them just kill Abe by stopping HIS heart, and therefore prevent him from 'saving' more people?

I prefer Imaginality to reality.

Maybe the ghosts cannot interact that way because they can't just kill somebody, even if he does something wrong. And because it's no for them to make things right, but for the one who *beep* up in the first place.

Those are the rules man. Like "Never cross the streams!" - "Let's cross the streams". :)

I think one ghost did try to kill Abe. Remember when he was printing the picture of Henry Caine from the video his son took? And then multiple pictures started popping out of the printer, then a female ghost came whizzing by, touched him in the chest & he fell down amidst all the pictures, cluthing his chest as thought having a heart attack. I guess he was too young & strong to die...plus it would have made the movie too short :-)
Insanity is: repeating the same action - over and over - yet expecting a different result.

I must have mixed things up. I thought the ghosts, at least most of them, were ghosts "from the future" trying to warn Abe that he had done something that would cause their deaths. (One of the female ghosts resembled the girl killed in the piano fall.) Anyway, my (false????) theory might explain why Abe ghost can kill but other ghosts can't. lol.

Anyway, better than expected movie. I just watched the beginning to kill time and was hooked by the restaurant killing scene.

Personally, I just pity the poor suckah who has to track down and kill everyone on the bus at the end - they'd just been saved, so they are all doomed to kill horribly in 3 days. As long as we're doin' plot holes with spoilers and all.

Fun enough movie, if you don't mind a totally absurd plot. If the plot made any sense at all, there'd never be a second-year doctor, firefighter, police officer.... and the lifesaver would be scorned and condemned worse than the cannibal.

Your first argument has some substance to it, I wondered if that were the case too, who knows if you're saved from the devil's mass killing sprees if you will yourself be possessed into going on a spree too.

But I disagree with you second part. Abe clearly says in one part of the film that it's only people saved using the EVP light that become possessed in 3 days.

It's his responsibility. He's the one that saved those people.

"If you save a life, you are responsible for it."

The other ghosts weren't responsible for saving anyone. They couldn't put things right by killing them.
