It just hit me. Shouldn't Abe (Spoilers)

Shouldn't Abe also have become possessed? There's a scene where he's watching the home movie of his wife and son in the car and Caine saves them. But Abe was in the backseat! He was the one holding the camera and recording the video.

So wouldn't that mean he was also saved by Caine, and thus should've become a Third Day victim? Any thoughts?
