This movie had so much potential just squandered away :(
It started out great but quickly turned into just another cliche filmfest, you lose please try again...

It really did have potential, but it seemed like towards the end, they just ran out of ideas and rushed the ending.
For example: Why did the pyramid collapse? The blood was in, the menacing green light made the transfer to the alien device. All should have been good to go. But Gimli gets shot, the thing collapses, and bam! Roll credits. Very f-ing ponderous.
How about even just for once letting the beings from other realms making their entrance ? Independence Day did it & people loved it, not only that it could've been a great setup for sequels.
Also why kill off John Rhys-Davies character so soon ? I'm glad they left him in all of the LOTR movies :)
