Want to get 'Dirt' back?

i don't really know if this will work, if they've officially canceled it, they've made their minds, but, i think we should bombard them w/ emails...at least until we get an answer as to WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

emails:

okay guys! make 'dirt' proud!

I've been posting this exact same thing on other boards. Actually I was just about to post it here!

If you also want to help out, in addition to emailing, buy Dirt on iTunes, watch it on Hulu, or buy season 1 on DVD...whatever it takes! Usually if networks see the interest for a show is getting bigger, they'll bring it back.

reply

What's really annoying is that they don't sell Dirt on iTunes in the UK...or at least last time i checked!!

Yeah i keep watching it on sidereel.com and i have emailed FX from all my different email addresses! Maybe it will get picked up by another network. That would be such a miracle if it did!

Kenny: You heard the news?
Lucy: OK lets save some time here and assume that i haven't...

Fan campaigns never work. And when they do, you'll probably only get one more season out of it, infuriating the fans all over again.

Just let it go.

It worked with Jericho, although only for one season. But all they need is one season to wrap the series up. It's easy in a show like this where there isn't one continuous plot line throughout the series.

But at this point, as long as Season 2 is released on DVD, I'm fine.

It's worked for Family Guy, Firefly got a movie, Futurama got 4 movies (technically a new season), kept Arrested Development alive for a 3rd season and so on.

But yeah they generally don't always work, it looks like the entire cast jumped ship long before it was announced.

Animated shows don't count, considering the sets are drawn and animated etc.

And was Arrested Development actually canceled? Sure a third season was on the bubble but I don't remember it actually being canned and then renewed thanks to the fans...

Arrested Development was heading that way on 2 separate occasions, but it's critical success and small fan following had saved it. Their episode order cut both in Season 2 and 3 (they joke about it a few times), thus is why we only had 13 episodes in S3. Thankfully they had enough time to come up with a good ending for the show, but would've probably been even better had they not cut the order down.

And yes Animated shows do count, I really don't understand why they wouldn't. If anything some may cost more to produce that some live action shows, considering they have they regular crews to pay for, plus animators and a whole slew of other people.

And don't forget about "Jericho."

Never say never, no one ever tell you that? It worked for Roswell I think it got 1 or 2 seasons out of it. And one more season is better than nothing... the second season sucked though, it was so bad compared to the first.

Unfortunately, I agree with kmassey. Cox is already on board for a new show and everyone else is working on other projects. Dirt is dead. It's time to move on.

reply

Fan campaigns never work? Say that to the Roswell fans. The WB wanted it cancel it after season 1 but due to massive fan support it lasted three seasons.
The massive support and high DVD sales of Firefly helped the show to get a movie. FOX actually wanted to turn it into a triology due to the lack of box office success those plans were scrapped. But still fan support DOES help and gives some shows another chance to prove itself.

I would love to see a Dirt movie.

I guess you guys gave up, huh? Just caught up on this show. I put it on my to-watch list ages ago but never got around to it until recently. Anyway, I bought both seasons from Amazon. First season was great! Second season was indeed a casualty of the writer's strike. Oh well, what could have been. Too bad.
