Region 2, don't think this series has seen the light of day in the US or Canada yet.

My girlfriend has an art history degree and is currently a grad student in a museum studies program.

I ordered the new US dvd from Amazon for her for Christmas

(released December 5, 2006)

It sounds like something she will like, but with her education level in art history I'm a little worried that she'll find the information too basic (not sure how much she has studied the impressionist movement specifically). That's why I'm glad it is a docu-drama and not just straight documentary.

The glowing reviews here make me feel more confident she will like it. So, thank you to those who have reviwed it!

One thing I read about it that really sold me on it was a line about special effects taking the viewer inside the painting or something.
To anyone who has seen it- do you know what I'm referring to? Is it cool?

The 55-minute bonus documentary "Claude Monet: Painter of Light" was also a selling point.

I'll respond later after we get it and watch it and let you know what we thought.

Could anyone tell me if there is English subtitle in the DVD? Thanks!!

reply

I live in Asia. I brought the DVD, no subtitle. I am a bit disappointed. But anyway when you watch several times, you could figure out every word.

reply

Thanks a lot! What a pity! They didn't put subtitle in the dvd. However, the series do worth watching several times.
