The mini series, The Impressionists started tonight on BBC1. I've just watched it and all I can say is WOW! Richard Armitage was wonderful as the young Monet. All the actors were ace. It is beautifully filmed and the colours are stunning. The Impressionists are my favourite art genre and this mini series really brings them to life, and of course it shows the original paintings too. Roll on next Sunday for the second episode.
I really hope you get to see it if you live outside the UK. It really is a stunner.

Oh, and Richard Armitage so reminds me of someone else - I can't for the life of me think who but it will come eventually. :)

Give me an occupation, Miss Dashwood, or I shall run mad.

Hugh Jackman, perhaps?

Hugh Jackman? Ooh, I don't know. I kept thinking Sean Bean for some reason but realised he looked nothing like him really.

You broke the ship ... you broke the bloody ship!

I know what you mean with Sean Bean; whenever I hear Richard speak, I always think that he sounds like Sean. Maybe it's the accent. Either way, they're both hot.

Thank you! I thought it was only me. I remember the first time I saw a preview clip of "North and South" (after the confusion of the title and it being British), when I heard "that voice" and only saw a glimpse of Richard, I had the silly thought it must be something Sean Bean did some time ago when he was younger.

No, Hugh Jackman did not say this. Rather it was Matthew McFayden from the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice.

If Richard Armitage reminds of you someone, it probably is Mr. Jonathan Thornton from BBC's North and South (2004). "Look back, look back at me" is a well remembered quote from this fantastic BBC series.

ever since i saw RA in N&S, i've been trying to see everything i can with him in it. as i say on every RA site i go to- he's gorgeous and fantastic! i'm interested in seeing things i might not usually want to watch just because he's in them, so he's making me broaden my horizons- and that's always a good thing!! he does sound alot like Sean Bean, as for who he looks like- Hugh Jackman a tiny bit- both are very handsome! so is Sean Bean but for some reason he always plays a baddie! even in Lady Chatterley, which is the most "romantic" thing i can remember him playing in, he's not that romantic really. sexy, yes, but in a mean way!

Estonian national TV shows "The Impressionists" and I wanted to save this on DVD, but the timer of my DVD player didn't start on time and I lost whole 10 minutes of the 1. serie. Sadly this is not repeated, too! Series are so wonderful!
