iIs this show REALLY fair?

I know they all compete with the same amout of quiz shows and challenges. However, the points are based on ruff's opinion. Not omn any sort of rubic or rules. Nina gets 100 points for making a poem and saying it outloud. Yet madi's group gets 75 points for excerising, making up her own exercise, and getting other people to enjoy it. I like both girls, but is the show truly fair?

and....ruff says that all the players have an equal chance of points or whatever, and the people who stay in the garage can only get like...50 pts, and the people who go out get waay more than that

reply

Yes, it is unfair. And Encantadiafan everybody stays in the garage sometime.

Ruff Ruffman:What Time Is It?!?!
Fetchers:BOUNUS POINTS!

reply

It just seems unfair. Am I making sense?

reply

All of the contestants get to run the same number of challenges and have to stay in the garage the same number of times, so the chance for receiving points ends up being the same for everyone.

How about a bit of the old ultraviolence?

Firstly, we don't get to see everything that happens. Some of the challenges span multiple days (like the dude ranch one, for example) and a whole lot is cut out to edit it into a 30-minute show. There could be parts that influence points but don't get shown for time or other reasons.

Besides, the show is set up so that it's still anybody's game by the finale and the points gathered in the main series don't matter too much. I won't spoil anything, but some minor things (answering trivia questions, etc) in the finale can have as much impact as whole episode-long challenges earlier on.

Really, I don't think the gameshow aspect of the show is meant to be taken all that seriously, especially considering what some of the prizes are! The show is really about learning and comedy rather than a true test of skill.

I love this show, but I don't think it is really fair.

Remember in the first season when Taylor had to stay in Studio G for the first 3-4 episodes? She could never catch up on the points. Some kids who get to go on the challenges first get a lot more points than the other people.

But most of the challanges are funny, and this show isn't really about winning. It's about learning and trying new things.

You know you can't read.
It's the Bible, you get credit for trying.

everyone is competing for the same number of points smart one. TRIUMPH TALLY. Seriously everyone goes on the same amount of challenges. go back to the first season. EVERYONE goes on the same amount of challenges and stays back the same. taylor being in the garage more in the beginning meant she was hardly in the garage at the end. everyone does the half time quiz show 5 times i beleive. it all adds up if you do that math

reply

Yes, but the points are based on Ruff's opinion. Not any sort of rules. Take any other game show. You know exactly how to earn points and exactly why you didn't get points. This one someone may get 75 another gets 100. Yet they all did exactly as expected, but no true reason as to why someone gets 75 and another gets 100.

reply

Does that make sense?

reply

I want to know why he asks the contestant who gets the bonus points if he/she wants to give them away. First of all, it's just five points most of the time. And secondly, it is a contest, so who would willingly give away a point advantage to someone else! So silly.

How about a bit of the old ultraviolence?

reply

Noo hes not asking if they want to give the points away goof he is asking if they want to give the prize away

in the 1st season, it seemed liked anna won a lot of the time. but, hey, she was my favorite.

Today UGA fired head football coach and hired Michael Vick to teach some real dawgs how to fight.

if you have seen the last episode of season one, the grand finale (if not, stop reading now, *spoiler*) then you know that when it comes down to the last show of the season, they have to compete in challenges in the studio, answer trivia about the season/challenges they went on, and even more importantly, there is not just one winner. well, there is one winner, but there is not some special prize that only that person gets. anna ended up winning season one, but the grand prize was a trip for all 6 of them to ride the rapids in colorado without having to do any challenges, just pure fun.

the point of the show is to learn some and laugh a lot. i dont think the kids arent having fun or mad about the points system.

reply

In season 2 though they never played up the grand prize factor at all except for the final couple of episodes and if I remember that was a gold trophy that only the season 2 winner got. Nobody else recieved any special prizes unlike the 1st season.

reply

plus if I crossed the contential divide, i'd hope it would be worth more than what was given to them.

It seems that sometimes there is an objective that the points are based on. For example in the first episode they got a certain number of points for each planet. It is possible that there is some objective for all the challenges, but it simply isn't the focus. The kids do participate in an equal number of challenges and "Half-time Quiz Shows". However, I think that the quiz show portion might not be entirely fair. It seems that the number of kids participating in the quiz show varies. I've seen up to four kids remain in the studio for the quiz and sometimes there is only one. The larger number of kids taking a quiz cooperatively increases their chance of answering the questions.
