Does anyone ever discuss the(very simple)maths?

What is with this show? Noel asking idiotic questions like whats your strategy? Noel if I was stupid enough to have a strategy for this show it absolutely would not matter. Its all RANDOM.Well my daughters birthday is the 15th Noel.So what! that doesn't change the numbers that were put there randomly before you started! Another example lets say theres 5 boxes left three high ones and two low.The bankers offer is a little lower than the lowest of the reds.Simple maths will tell you if you play on you have a 60% success rate.Instead of using logic like this people will say things like You are having a good game so far or mention what happened in yesterdays game or some nonsense.By the way I watch it in the hope of seeing such idiots get a penny.

I think he is saying he doesn't have a better system.

He is right. I always thought it would be interesting though, if someone just went on the show and picked boxes 1 to 20 in chronological order, then their left with just 21 or 22. Noone will ever do this, and they're right not to, because it isn't pure randomness. the boxes are selected by an independant adjudicator who is human. Human's are conflicted by their own idea of randomness (i.e. £250,000, £100,000, £75,000 can't be in boxes 1,2,3).

In my opinion the best way to play it is by assesing the risk/reward at each offer (like the OP says). Of course you could just be appaulingly unlucky and never get a good enough offer at any stage in the game. I suppose you could influence you're own offer by presenting yourself as headstrong and willing to go all the way. It depends how the banker reads you more than anything else.

I also only found out the other day that if you win a penny you get the chance to go back on the show, that seems so unfair. What if you won 10p - £10?

Are the boxes actually selected by the independent adjudicator, or does he/she pick them randomly, out of a hat so to speak, and is then just the only person who knows where the money is?
