The contestants are always saying that they have never seen so much money and it might be only 3-4 thousand, surely they are working and have had a large sum of money in their possession at some stage when making a purchase car, house, college fees etc. Is it only playing up to the camera?
shareMaybe some of them are. But at the same time, we shouldn't work under the assumption that everybody owns a home or a car.
Lots of people out there rent homes, rather than buy them. And cars are expensive to run these days, what with fuel insurance etc.
So it's not a major stretch to believe there are people out there who can't afford to buy homes and/or cars. I certainly don't think it's hugely unbelievable that there are people who have never had £4000 in their bank account in their life.
