As this is a German Co-Production featuring many German actors and directed by an Austrian director, when will it be broadcasted in Germany? What about the DVD release?

it will be aired in Jan. 08 in Germany on ZDF.

Hey, that's cool news. Love "War and Peace", can't see enough adaptations. ofcource this one doesn't have the potential to be better than Bondachuk's (which isn't perfect in my opinion) it sure will be interesting...

I have seen at amazon.de that the DVD will be released on Jan 16, 2008. I'll buy it for sure.
