Anyone knows if there is any subtitles in english or other language to this series? thank you.

i will be thankfull too i f somebody find some subtitles!

I'm from Austria and the DVD will be released on Jan 16, 2008 on amazon.de. I will buy it and then i can tell you which subtitles are on the DVD.

Although many German releases include the original soundtrack when it is in English, the German DVD of "War &Peace" (="Krieg und Frieden") has only the German-language version and optional subtitles (also in German).

Unlike the german version, the french copy - that can be ordered through amazon.fr - seems to have both french and english original soundtrack

Conttrary to what i said earlier, I've just received the french version only to discover there's no english soundtrack available in it

I ordered a copy from Amazon.de, which will be released on January the 16th.
Hopefully it will have english subtitles.
So far I was able to watch some parts of the movie, just to get the visuals, by ordering the russian language only version from ebay, for the steal of just $8.99 (vivante store). The visuals are stunningly good, all fotographed on the original russian localities. I'm lucky to understand german, so I'm really looking forward watching it.

Actually it is a German-Italian-Russian coproduction and has several language tracks. I also found the English version here:

I ordered it yesterday, for my Videostore in Canada.
