Why add LSD to the mix?

i never done Crystal, but sorely based on those famous "downhill pictures", wasn't it bad enough already to scare teens from doing drugs? i think the movie would have been much better justified and a lot more accurate - because the original story this is based upon takes 2 youngsters doing crystal meth only -, so why they had to add acid to it?

even decades after, LSD is still being misjudged by people... and this type of movie only seems to give it a even worse name than it's already got...

btw, for a switch of subjects now, what was the mud in that guy shoes supposed to mean? that he was out in the woods scaring the couple, or that he simply was out of the party to buy the booze (which i doubt would get his shoes like that)... either way, the movie doesn't explain...

I think the LSD was there so the couple could see a visual portion of the trip. If they were just running around on meth, they wouldn't have that "trippy" vision (things floating/shrinking/etc...), and that's what led them to be scared a few of the times and keep running.

And the mud was just there to make you unsure of whether they were being with or not. The fact they don't say for sure is on purpose...

Some good ideas were peppered throughout the movie, but it just gets too bogged down in plot and dialogue at times. Still, worth $4 for a rental if nothing else is out...

The movie was stupid. Don't try to make sense of it.

I doubt the idea of the film was to scare kids away from doing drugs.
