Bhats redeem themselves

Checked out this movie yesterday. I thought this was a really good effort. Bhat camp has been disappointing in last couple of years with hollywood rip-offs like Raaz, Murder, Zeher..... But with Kaliyug and Gangster i think they are back on track. I hope they will continue with this trend of encouraging original scripts. they have been bringing lot of new faces who are doing pretty good for themselves.

Coming back to gangster,the movie belongs to Shiney and kangana. Shiney i think can go a long way. He was exceptional in Hazaar Khwahishen Aisi.In Gangster he hardly had ten lines to speak. But boy,he really packed a punch. I hope he becomes a star. Kangana makes a fine debut. she emotes well and is quite subtle. Ofcourse, music is anoher high point and is blended well with the story-line.

I feel now various production houses are focussing more on the real acting talents than just mere star materials. Its a healthy sign. bollywood has lost lot of talents due to its narrow vision( likes of Naseeruddin shah, Om puri, Anu Kapoor, Raghuveer Yadav to name a few). Naseer's case is the most heart breaking coz i feel he is one of the best in the world (I always draw parallels b/w him and one of my all-time favourites Al Pacino.)

Back to gangster again, I feel the Indian audience have let down this movie by not making it a super-hit. Lets hope the film makers are not dis-heartened.
