WOW Jimmy McGovern + Antonia Bird revisting the seminal Cracker... :D

Only just heard of this by doing a quick what else as he done imdb search after watching Rafe Spall in Kidulthood.

Wow now I can't wait, really hope they can do Cracker justice after the pretty poor lukewarm Hong Kong final episode.With all respect to everyone involved and because when it was good it was probably the best piece of TV of its era, I was allways sad it ended with such a light weight episode.

Anyhow cut forward over a decade and Jimmy McGovern's just coming back from doing great work on BBC's "The Street" and Antonia Bird one hell of a powerfull film maker with classic tv stuff such as "Safe" and "Care" (a true mark of great tv when this touched me so much I actually cried something I hadnt done before or since)

Anyone who's English and watched tv over the last 15 or so years should rightly know and respect these two names.

fingers crossed... Does anyone know the air date yet ?

When was the "hong kong" final eposode filmed as i had heard they were doing another cracker but was the hong kong one done last year or did i miss one
the last one i remember when penhalagans attacker/work college said "sorry for raping her" and jumped of the top of a building with an arrested killer
how many more have i missed not includind "fitz" im sorry but i diddnt like that one remake

The Hong Kong episode was done in 1996. The new one 911 will be shown in the UK in September 2006.

The episode where Beck commits suicide was Brotherly love.
