The letter from his wife (SPOILER QUESTION)

Was watching this on TV 'live' - so didn't get the chance to freeze-frame on the letter from Fitz's wife at the end. Did anyone do this (or manage to read it while it was on-screen)?

Just wondering whether she'd left him for good or was just P*ssed off at him. I would love to know, as it may be quite a while before we get our next visit to the Fitz-universe.

It's very hard to read even paused on a DVD but basically it looks like a lot of overly dramatic therapy speak as you'd expect! I doubt Fitz and Judith would split up for good though. They're too old for that now and it's not like it hasn't happened several times before. And as good as the new episode was I'm afraid I can't see any more ever happening.

I took the letter as it possibly being a permanent split, especially given the shot of Judith & James in the taxi leaving and Fitz's obvious reluctance to return to Australia. Simply because if by chance we did get another episode, how many more times can they have them split up/get back together again? It's been done to death, and I can't see much more storyline mileage in it. To be honest, I'm amazed that they were even still married in this new one anyway, it seemed like a lot from the end of Series 3 had been "conviniently" forgotten about, never to be mentioned again i.e Judith contemplating an affair with Fitz's brother, Fitz being in love with Panhandle (which Judith was fully aware of) and the crappy state of their marriage in general.

I was glad to see them still married. I figured they'd been through an awful lot and still figured out how to stick it out, in what look like a more-or-less comfortable state. Maybe I'm showing my age!! *lol*

We didn't see it "talked about" at this point, because after all, it IS 10 years later...I'm quite sure there was alot of talking or yelling during that 10 years! Seems they managed to hammer it out, so I WAS disappointed to see them split again, although Fitz WAS being a jerk about his grand-daughter.

*IF* his wife didn't actually leave the country, I could see them hooking up and him going back to Oz. If she's really REALLY left to go back without him, I think it's game over. It's not like their previous fallings out, she's going to the opposite side of the planet! I can't see him jumping on a plane of his own volition to be with her.

The story was really fantastic, I think but I felt they leapt to the final cunning mental work of the Great Fitz in too short a time and didn't give us the benefit of his gears going, prior to fingering the bad guy.

If it had been intended to be a permanent split I don't think Fitz would have been so nonchalant in his quip "Dinner in 'fridge, wife in Australia" but it's hard to tell. I didn't really want it spelled out, and I think that was their intent...to leave people guessing.

What would Kristin do?
