The body was Maria (Alexis Dziena), the girl that Lori had seen with Eric the night before. That was the awful truth that Lori knew about Eric....that he killed the girl she thought he was kissing.

Um - no. It's not Maria. Maria was working with the police to try to draw Eric out.
The girl we see in the end flashback is an unnamed earlier victim who Lt. Cristofuoro always suspected Eric of killing. We know it's a flashback, because both Eric and Lori look younger. Lori saw Eric do her in and dispose of the body and the suggestion is that this may have been the genesis for Lori's own death wish and her fixation/obsession with Eric. 🐭
