question about Lori and scene with Maria (spoilers)

if he was still a killer/psychopath, why the heck did he not kill Lori? I know it doesn't match up with his norm, but he did kill his parents, and i'm pretty sure he didn't have any sexual feelings for them either, nor were they brunette, etc. she was annoying as heck. i know he thought about killing her, but why didn't he just do it!? kinda glad she died though...lol.

also, there's a scene with Maria when she comes into the facility and her and Eric look at each other. that was a flashback correct? what did she do to get in the facility? how exactly did they start to contact each other anyway? movie could have been a little more clear with a few things, i do believe.

"why the heck did he not kill Lori?"

He was one of those "emotional" psychopaths. The ones that break down when an annoying teen commits suicide.

"what did she do to get in the facility?"

She was planted there by the cops. She wanted him to contact her later on, so that he could screw up, and they could catch him red-handed. Remember the cops coming out of the bushes? It was a set-up.

"What sweaty pervert ?"

reply

i understand the set-up, but when she came in to the room and saw him at the facility, the guards realized "oh crap, get her outta here" because eric was looking at her like he was angry. so that's why I thought that that scene was after he was put into the facility a second time, and she had done something to be put in there. but now that i think of it, maybe he looked at her like that only because she was a hot brunette. thanks!

reply

I'm not sure if it was a set up from the start. Otherwise the cop wouldn't have been driving around randomly trying to locate Eric. I believe once he found him he called the cops and set up the ambush.

I see your other questions have already been answered. In regard to how they began contacting each other, there's a scene just before Eric is released from "prison" in which another inmate hands him a note from Maria stating that she's interested in him. She gives him her contact info/phone number, and asks him to contact her after he's released. He then calls her from his aunt's house and sets up the meeting at the fairgrounds.

reply

what i still don't get is why he looked mad when he saw her in jail in the middle of the movie. yes he was interested, but he saw her and everyone is like "get her outta here!" like it was a flashforward scene or something.

reply

Ok, just watched that part again to see what you're talking about. Eric didn't look angry, he was just staring at her with interest.

The guards were yelling to get her out of there because they didn't want girls in the boy's section of the prison. Coeds and juvie delinquents are a bad mix...

Serial killers have been known to have wives and the whole family life. They usually don't just kill everyone but pick out certain targets.

Awesome spoiler in your subject line. Good one.

reply

he didn't kill lori, so it's not a spoiler actually. the question i asked was wondering why he didn't kill her, because she was extremely annoying.

reply

But in your post you gave away that he didn't kill her - which was a major part of the suspense in the storyline (i.e., would he or wouldn't he?)
A better title for your original post would be something like: "Lori's Relationship with Eric? (SPOILERS)

reply

very true. if i can, i will edit it. i'm new at the posting thing.

reply

Much better. Thank you!

P.S. I can tell you're new to posting because you handled our replies so maturely!!

Peace.

haha...well thanks, but i do plan to be mature about them in the future, even when i'm not new to posting. no sense in arguing with people you don't even know on a public site. :)

Girls like Lori didn't fit his profile. Girls like Maria did. That's why she was used as bait in an attempt to draw him out.🐭
