Odd feel to this film

Got this from the bargain section the other day mostly because of the cool packaging (Very macabre looking cover in a tin box, probably should have taken the hint that if they had to make it look that good....)

Not saying I hated it, thought it was fairly good, but it came across as kind of a Gothic horror "chick flick" written by a female writer with lesbian tendencies (yeah I know it was written by a man, that makes it all the stranger).

Got frustrated by David Carradine's character (PLEASE not another Van Helsing in a vampire flick!)and his scenes where way too dull, and I felt he was just there so they could say "Look we got David Carradine!".

On the up side thought the guy who plays the vampire slayer was a nice change from the usual type in this kind of film with some interesting weapons.

I agree, it was an odd movie......i loved the presentation....I loved the pace...I loved the way the movie never tried to please me(but in a good way..)Maybe there is commentary on the dvd...I would love to hear the directors ideas and thought process about his film......Carradine is Carradine... in fact he is more Carradine in this than in Kill Bill.........He runs the razors edge of chewing scenery and method acting all at once.......in this it works...

Best part of this movie believe it or not wasn't actually Carradine or any of the women. It was that vampire hunter/killer dude, now he was cool. Let me get this straight though, he saves Sydney from being killed by a vampire and for his trouble he gets maced in the face. Later when they call her to warn her she decides to run and gets chloroformed by her dead friend. Not a very bright bimbo aint she?
