i know this tv show is based on a true story , and there is a book with the diaries for the true girl that had this disease
but can someone tell if there is an english version of it ?? and where can i get it from online?

I have attempted to find an English version of this book and was disappointed to learn that everyone seems to think it is not available in English. This is untrue! However, it may be very difficult to find in America. I am an American living in Japan and was able to find a copy in a bookstore that sells materials to native Japanese speakers wanting to learn English. The book was published by FA Publishing Co. under the "Ladder Series" and translated by Yoko Toyozaki and Stuart Varnam-Atkin. The translation was done very well and includes an afterword and postscript by Aya's mother. There are a couple pictures of Aya along pictures of some original doodles from her diary. The only thing is, if you want to buy it and have it shipped to America- you're going to pay close to $50 with the shipping. I wanted to buy it, but that's a lot of money. I'm going to Japan summer, so hopefully I can find it then.
