if you dont mind watching anime i know a very very sad one too : )
its called Clannad After Story, buts its season 2 of Clannad so you need to watch Clannad first wich is a little more childish at the start and focusses a bit more on side stories, but towards the last episodes and in the beginning its serious and focusses on the main story. and season 2 (After Story) is main story only and is very beautifull and Realy sad.
its the only anime that ever made me cry, even more then once : )

i highly recommend you to watch it even if you dont watch anime but maybe if you are open to start watching i would say Clannad & Clannad After Story.
offcourse its an anime so it has his childish things but its serious too, especially season 2 and its also alot more mature.
