To be perfectly honest, the music was rather dated and had a very (in the vein of the film) 'dharmic' feel to it. Sure, it suited most of the situations perfectly but its not something I want to put on my MP3 player. As for Ravindra Jain's musical genius, note that he has composed the title track for Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayan'. I rest my case.

Upon hearing the soundtrack the first time, I too felt the music sounded too "early 90s", but I have to admit that I gradually began to like the music very much. Especially "Do anjaane" is such a beautiful song. The songs are of course not perfect, with some strange lyrics here and there, but overall I like it and the best thing is that it fits the situations in the movie perfectly, which cannot be said about a lot of films nowadays.
