really officially cancelled- this from me, a cast member

sorry everybody who liked the show- it is officially done. Got the call from network yesterday, despite the media speculation. No one is more saddened than me- because as eugene gurkin, I got to be reduced to a pile laughing on the floor on a daily basis by a cast that was incredibly hilarious and talented- believe you me, I am aware that I was perhaps the weakest link- we loved making this show and I hope you get to see the episodes that didn't air with ray romano in them because they were really fun to make- danny trejo joined us too! all the best

Mr. Logue, on the off chance you may actually read this, I just wanted to express how disappointed I am with the cancellation. The show was by far one of the funniest and most original comedies on television. The great premise, combined with the outstanding ensemble cast made this truly appointment tv on a network which had nothing compatible to air with it. If you are willing or able to divulge any details, could you confirm if the pickup was contingent on whether or not ABC could have acquired Scrubs from NBC. That is a rumor that has been speculated on quite a bit.

why it was cancelled was probably based on the ratings last season- I am not sure if the scrubs issue had any role in it (it may have)
It was rough because last season we opened against a bowl game (notre dame lsu) and did well- the next week we were preempted by George Bush assuring the US public that 25000 more troops were going to be asked to give up their lives by getting between sunnis and shias who have been fighting for 1300 years and then came American Idol-

but thanks to those of you who liked the show- we liked making it-

Mr. Logue, I just wanted to say that me and my brother are both big fans of your work, particularly Knights and Grounded For Life (which usually isn't our type of show to watch, but we found so much of that to be relatable.) Don't be so modest about yourself and your contributions because every great sitcom needs a straightman who can keep it together (ala Jason Bateman and Arrested Development), and you definitely filled that role in a very genuine manner (not only in being at best an amateur thief, but also your romantic interest in Esperanza.) Its a shame ABC isn't giving you guys the chance you deserve... especially since they never gave the show a fair chance to start with as it was supposed to be a fall show that was pushed back due to one of their lame reality shows (Dancing perhaps) and then you face the schedule conflicts you mentioned until finally getting a new timeslot, it just didn't have a chance. I would of thought with supposedly the ABC brass being fans of it that they would of gave the show a spot in the fall and hopefully a clean slate but obviously that didn't work out. Unlike the sitcoms ABC is known to run (that usually fails), Knights had a running story going on and to put it in midseason, on Idol's night, when viewers are entrenched in their shows meant that it was hard to get into if they missed the premier, let alone if they watched the week before if got moved to a new timeslot and came back the following week to see it gone. It was such a fresh show that I believed was really finding it's way towards the last few episodes, showing the kind of promise it did have for the future.

All the best to you, the rest of the cast and the crew. Hopefully we'll be able to see you on a new show in the future, because you are one funny guy.

Take care.

(FYI, I don't know if you ever watched The Black Donnellys, but fellow GFL castmate Kevin Corrigan was on it for awhile and was very good in it. I don't believe the episodes with him aired, but they are online at NBC's website and at iTunes. In case you wanted to check them out.)

I think its pretty awesome that Donal is reading and writing on here!! Means that he's pretty down-home like the characters he plays. My husband and I will miss Knights, and our typical bad luck: a show that we like TOGETHER winds up getting canceled, then released on DVD, so we buy it, but never satisfied with not getting more!!
For the record, the first time I took notice of Donal was Tao of Steve. If you haven't seen it yet, you must!! And also, a great soundtrack!!

It is the kind of show that is able to air again and it would still be "new and smart" - wish another network would pick it up!

It's sad when comedies like these get cancelled and then replaced with reruns for the George Lopez show. I hear the George Lopez show was finally cancelled, but do they really believe reruns of that show does better in the ratings than a new KOP?

and Donal, Tennis Anyone was great.

Not really Donal Logue guys, look at his other posts.

I am so sorry this show was cancelled! The fact that my husband was in the show made me know first hand how talented you all are, including you Donal. You were such a talented group, I loved visiting you guys & gals "Sophia" on the set in NY and watching you work. Kev and I are really sad ABC did not pick up this show> for what ever reason. I just hope they air those episodes with Ray Romano, and the Super Heroe episode too! The scenes I saw were hilarious. miss you all, Monica

I have to say this show actually regained what faith I had lost in television. However, people chose to watch the redundant sitcoms and reality shows rather than give a unique and funny show a chance. I will really miss this show and hope the episodes with Ray will be released.

I just saw this episode and laughed my a** off.
