I give this movie 10/10. Excellent story, original plot, great acting, what more can you ask? Even the effects were great. Not to mention the great cast.

Whats not to like? Good cast. Good acting. Good story. Likeable characters. And it is entertaining. That is all I look for in a movie.

I don't hate you at all. It's just that I use imdb and take its ratings into account when deciding on whether to see something or not and your preferences and mine seem to be very different.
There are a lot of movies with good cast, nice story, characters. But if they all got 10s, what would be left to distinguish the truly amazing things that are out there? For example, talking about adventure and children stories, I thought 'The Fall' was brilliant, and 'The Labyrinth' will always have a special place in my heart.
I think Inkheart was ok for what it was aiming to be, but it's definitely not fantastic and is far from being the best movie ever.
I dont rate for best movie ever. I rate for how entertaining it is. A 10 would mean, very entertaining will watch again.
My top favorite best movie ever usually get average ratings on IMDB. I mean Lord Of The Rings should be a 10 solid.

Well as 10 is the maximum I can give, I only give it to the movies I find to be the best movies ever.
For me, an avarage movie gets a 5, a good movie gets 7, a very good movie gets 8. I give 9s and 10s when something truly awesome happens and I am blown away (not more than 50 of those so far).
I guess we just use the voting system in different ways :)
I couldn't agree more. The rating on here is ridiculous. Deserves much more that a 6.0 rating.

It wastes good actors, it tries as hard as it can to keep the main character out of the picture, it rushes through the story, many things aren't explained, and it's a terrible adaptation.
