Why Dustfinger and Farid didnt go back like the other ones?

At the end she writes that everyone should go back to their books, so why didnt they? by the way, what long arm she has, it fit a whole book chapter!

Dustfinger and Farid didn't go back because Meggie actually only wrote, "All those who were in sight of the girl." So it would seem that Rapunzel was still imprisoned and didn't go back into the book. So presumably, the castle burned down around her and everyone forgot about her.

Some books should be tasted, some devoured, but only a few should be chewed and digested thoroughly

Dustfinger and Faris were busy burning the castle and by the time they reached Meggie's sight, she had already summoned the fictional beings back to their own world. So yeah, they missed it.

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives.
