rundown on plot -spoilers

I just saw the end of the movie. The entry in the MDB is the thinnest on a movie I have ever seen, so, for the benefit of those who want to know more, here is some of the details.

It's set in some place in the northeast, in October. I somehow got the idea it was in Canada somewhere, but toward the end they were talking about calling the FBI, so it's unclear.

The woman works for a doctor in private practice. She has a son, Sam.

An old man tells the woman that the doctor is evil, but she won't believe him. The next thing we see the doctor is gathering snake venom from a rattlesnake he keeps in his office. He goes to the old man's house at night and paints venom on the steering wheel of the old man's car. The next day the old man is driving his pickup, picks his teeth with his fingernail, and gets sick, and has an automobile accident, almost hitting the woman. The doctor arrives, gives the old man something for pain, and says, sorry, he can't be helped. The old man dies.

The sheriff questions the doc, wondering why so many people are dieing. The doc answers that it's October, lot of old folks around, and there will probably be more deaths by spring.

The doc visits an old woman late at night, tells her that her blood tests came in, that she has a new medication for her, and injects it.

The woman has sex with her boyfriend for the first time, and the next morning Sam mentions it at the local diner, where the doc and the boyfriend are also present. This gets the doc jealous, and he tells the boyfriend to come in for his flu shot after breakfast. The woman's sister asks the doc to bring her the cell phone she left on the table. The doc also hears that the woman (his employee) had gone to the office early for filing. He hurries to his office, where the woman has just gone through some files discovering that the doc has been altering the records. She goes out to get some coffee and the doc doesn't get a chance to give her the cell phone.

She goes to the old woman's house and discovers she is dead. She calls the sheriff and tells him of her suspicions, and convinces the sheriff to order an autopsy. After calling the doc on the sheriff's cell to tell him she was delayed by car trouble (the doc has the package of coffee and the cell phone, so he knows she is lieing), she goes back to the doc's office, where the doc confronts her with her lies and says he hates liars more than anything. He overpowers her and drags her into the back room just as the boyfriend is arriving. The boyfriend realizes the doc is lieing and struggles with him. The doc runs off and the boyfriend frees her.

The sheriff arrives and arranges his small staff of deputies to cover the four exits to the town to apprehend the doc. Someone thinks the doc took the train out of town, but our heroine is apprehensive, and gets a revolver. Sure enough, that night the doc storms the house where she, her son, boyfriend, and sister are holed up, and the movie concludes with suspensful action.

In the mean time.

Wow. Very detailed. The movie only came on once right? lol. Thanks alot for posting that up here; I missed the movie thinking it was coming on a day later than it did. *sigh* Anyway, This really helped me out with an idea of what the movie is about; IMDB really does not help. Thanks again! Cant wait to see it.

I just saw this movie last night and recognised the locations. Some of it was filmed in Montreal, Quebec an the prtsd after she moved back to her hometown with her son were filmed in a little town outside of Montreal calle Ormstown, Quebec.. I used to live there so I know both places well...still live in Montreal.

Here's a link about were it was filmed..they leave out Ormstown for some reason..perhaps because they believe Ormstown to be a suburb of Mntreal..although it's about 35 miles away
