The Demons could be real because.............. ....

Im sorry if this has been mentioned before, but the main girl is given the pictures by the asian girl which have a drawn depicition of the demons, so I guess its possilbe she merely imagined them, although it begs the question if it was a drug why did it all of sudden work at that time , seemingly to Mike and the main girl at the same time.

However, lest we not forget the bald guy who gets killed with his pregnant wife, saw a similar looking demon, even if a drug caused karens delusions, how the hell would he see the same thing a drug cannot create such a similar delusion to two people.

Yes they could be real,
But after sitting through the whole movie I felt it was a cop out that they never let you know.
I am usually a very strong advocate for strange and vague endings but this one after all those boring killer mormons kinda was a let down, the movie finally started to get good again, then F-you for sitting through it and "we end it to be vague"..... but of artsy a$$h@tts. If you actually have a budget to make monsters in your movie...use the freaking things!!!!
First 20 minutes good, mediocre middle then the monsters in the last 1 minute was a lame f-you from the people behind this.
I sat through a great beginning, a dragged out middle then a abrupt end just as it got good...
I hope it was real but I think the truth is they (the director and crew) just got lazy and used the same special effects for the chud/gollum love child monsters.

Actually, drugs frequently do cause similar hallucinations in people. In any case, it's a small suspension of disbelief required to make the film work.

I was questioning the bald guy seeing the demon as well. On a second watch he mentions he is hungry because all his wife feeds him is muffins and bread. The same muffins that Karen buys when she finds out about the girl who jumped in front of the train. The same muffins that are tainted with ergot. And when Karen is taking a shower at the beginning of the movie actually takes place after the events. The news report on the radio discusses all the carnage and death.
