Parallels to Buffalo '66

Opposite personalities, gruff abrupt male lead, submissive kind-hearted female lead, spiteful of family, awkward stranger-meets-family situation, sad-sack best friend, revenge; there's so many. This movie is so much more like Buffalo '66 than Napoleon Dynamite.

Doesn't appear that many have seen Buffalo '66... I agree with your take, but Vincent Gallo's character was far more interesting than Jemaine's. Actually B'66 overall was much better.

hmmmn.......It didn't really remind me of Buffalo 66, different kind of vibe altogether i think. In Buffalo..... Vincent Galo's character had serious issues, he was on his way to kill someone then to turn the gun on himself afterwards, until Layla showed him something that he'd never experienced before.

Both great films though.

Yeah, she's a real Road King alright!.'

the film Buffalo '66 never occured to me while watching this. i mean, the obvious reason is that Eagle vs. Shark is much more light-hearted.

I didn't think of that either but I can see where you're coming from. Except Lily wasn't kidnapped and forced to go with Jarrod...of course. :)

ya now that i think of it almost too similar same slow, dazed out tone, same loser bestfreind, same in awe girlfreind, only diffrence is that this is much lighter

reply

i agree with other posters and original poster

This does have all the elements of Bufallo66 but even though under the nose, i didn't smell them because the eagle vs shark movie is so light hearted and harmless weird characters. Vincent Gallo looked like he was going to start some serious s**t at any given moment.
