Horse Game

This game is so fun! Horse!!!!!

reply

Well, that game was quite stupid but it set up for a nice ending, aided greatly by that Stone Roses song, always one of my faves.

Redheads not warheads

i know this game. there is also a rule to it where you have to say "bury the horses" when you pass a cemetery...whoever does it first steals all of their opponents "horses"

reply

In the UK commentary they say it's a game Loren Horsely's family plays.

Me and you, you and me, freakiocity

As well as the cemetery rule, we play the 'horse theif' rule - if you see a horse trailer you say 'horse theif' and you take all the horses counted by other players.

reply

In the Midwest we play this game but with cows. You only get points if the cows are on your side of the car. When you pass a cemetary on your side, you lose all your cows.

in soviet russia horses count you!

In Canada we shout out for all farm animals, but we don't keep score.

Really, I'm just talking about my family specifically, I don't know how all Canadians do it. But I assume we're pretty much all alike.

"What you just said, that should be a line. Write that down as a line. ...Period."

Heh, grew up in New Zealand, and we used to do the horse game with goats, but could only count your own side of the road. There used to be a surprisingly high number of goats picketed beside the roads of the rural parts of south auckland.

reply

Omg we used to play it with goats too! Only we got a lolly if we spotted a goat first. A good way to keeps kids in the car quiet!

Though the game died after one 4 hour car trip where we passed no goats

And I and my family played this game each Christmas, although we counted Christmas trees, not animals. But I don't think this is very popular in Poland, where I live.

reply

We didn't count animals in my part of the US... We had a game called Punch Buggy. It was mainly a one-on-one game.

When I saw a Volkswagen Beetle, I got to punch a friend in the arm and yell PUNCH BUGGY!
