So the blind girl...

you know how she could "see" the present, future, and past?
well, in the beginning of the movie, she and that blonde girl were talking about how she was with a girl..
well, as the blind girl was visualizing what was gonna happen...
she "saw" the blonde girl laying on the floor...
now i know it doesnt make a whole lot of sense...
but how the heck could the blind girl know thats her? and how could she even think that looks like her?

but then again,
shes blind...
how could she even know what the blonde girl looks like?
unless, her "powers" let her see whoever picks the cards?

reply

The card are in Braile? No, I think that was just part of the movie, we are led to assume that she doesn't actually need to see the cards to see the future...I don't know.

reply

Actually, Alaskan, we did put Braille markings on the cards! (Although they don't read very well on camera) --- the whole idea for Cecelia's "Second Sight" was that she actually could SEE images in her mind (she lost her eyesight later in childhood)... thus, she could tell who was who, without actually being able to "see" them they way we would. WPS

reply

Yes, she sees images in her mind... so far I got, but wheat the original poster is trying to ask is the following:
The blind girl "sees" (in her mind) a blond girl lying on the floor at the bottom of the stairs, ok? And she says to Alex "You're at the bottom of the stairs". How does she know that that blond girl is Alex if she can't really see Alex, thus she doesn't know what her friend Alex looks like?

reply

She knows it's Alex because it was Alex's reading she was doing. Alex touched the cards to pick three and then Cecilia read the fortune based on the cards Alex picked, thus creating that obvious connection to whatever she sees in the cards. She never actually specifies that she knows Alex is the blond, the most she manages to say is that Alex is at the bottom of the stairs and there is another girl there and she's different. Then later Cecilia comments on the fact that she always thought Mara was a blond so there is a good chance that because of what Cecilia saw she actually thought Alex was Mara and vice versa.

Neato! Thanks for clearing up the confusion...question, how long did it take to write 5ive Girls?

reply

ten minutes.

reply

I bet it was more like seven.

reply

Your Welcome, glad to help.

My bet would be that it took them twenty minutes to write 5ive girls but that's only because the writers kept getting distracted by shiny objects.

More like 5 and that allows 3 minutes for the wanking that went on half way through. So total writing time like 2 minutes.

That doesn't explain why she was carrying a flashlight.

reply

Perhaps she was carrying the flashlight because other people aren't blind and can see the light and she didn't want to get run into in the dark.
