While watching the movie, and being a football fan, I was dying inside because I really didn't remember whether England really won the World Cup in 1966. And also, it was hard to keep myself from go and watch because I felt that would spoil the movie.
Anyone besides me felt that way?

Surely you're joking? What football fan doesn't know when England won the World Cup? You're excused from not knowing if:
1)You're not British
2)You're Under 20
3)You're really good at Pinball and your name is Tommy.

shareI felt the fact that I knew England got through the final and won enhanced the movie, otherwise it would have been a football movie. It made it even more heart braking because I knew it wasn't going to end well for Bernie especially after all the setbacks. I'm not a football fan at all and that would have ruined this movie for me. Sixty Six is one of my all time favorite movies.
And just to mention, I'm British, 23 and I come from a family who aren't into football but I knew we won in 1966, we don't win much any more, we need to cling to what we did win lol
