Digital grenade?

Was I hearing things or when they placed the pinapple type grenade near the computer/lab table of CTX and the thing was beeping before it blew up?! I didn't know old style grenades had such capabilities.

I also liked the sudden ending. They said that the CTX had already got into the water supply (too late!). They then wipe out the CTX freaks and Seagal and one other surviving team member get into a car and drive off. Roll credits!!
