I know there is willing suspension of disbelief and all that but I don't think it applies to the awful plot holes in this movies.
1)the house would have been checked SO thoroughly if that kid just happened to disappear and a girl made a claim like he had been killed in the house. They definitely would have checked for jawbones in the furnace downstairs...
2)at the end when she decides to just leave Jaime king in the furnace we are to assume she will die there, and the body of paige (the other friend) will also be put in there because she is so mad at both of them for screwing her over for 12 years. she will definitely be caught and then it's probably back to the crazy house. bad ending. and the dialogue felt like it was written by a 17 year old while i'm at it haha.

Neither of those are plot holes. They had her committed, so you can infer that no one believed her. If no one believed her, why in the world would they check the house? For all we know the kid was an orphan, and no one ever reported his disappearance.

Why will she "definitely be caught" ? Who is going to catch her? She just locks up the basement and that's that. Police need a search warrant to search her house. Where is the motive? Why would the police suspect the girls were there? Maybe they went to Portugal, who knows? At best any evidence is circumstantial, the police would never get their warrant.

And while I am at it, your post feels like it was written by a 12-year old.

They would without a doubt search her house in real life...being rude to the Op and then making an ass if yourself.priceless
