music

I am a fan of Ludek Drizhal--I was introduced to his talent while watching the film "Rounding First" I admit, I was first attracted to the film because of it's location (I'm a Bethlehem PA native now transplanted in CA!) I do hope a soundtrack will become available soon--though I'm sure the movie will have to be released first!

...meaning the release and soundtrack for "Badland"
Sorry...I'm a bit tired.

Thank you for your kind words! I don’t have the exact information, but as far as I know, the film should be released in Los Angeles and New York on October 19th of this year. It’s a very relevant and powerful story, very harsh, but powerful. Visually it’s a breathtaking picture, the individual performances are very strong. If you have the time, I encourage you to go see it. As for the music, if you enjoyed my score for “Rounding First”, I feel that you will also enjoy my score for “Badland”. For any information about my projects you may also visit www.ludekdrizhal.com or http://myspace.com/ludekdrizhal (which I just put up and it’s been a work-in-progress as time allows).

Best,

I'm so honored that you took the time to reply to my post. This is a huge thrill for me, I can't begin to say. The films looks quite intense and I am very interested in seeing it, now that I've read more about it. I also enjoyed your website! (I hope you liked Allentown)
Looking forward to your future projects--your music is incredible.

Sincerely,
Lisa S.

Allentown is a very lovely place. It was my one and only time to visit that part of the country. In my opinion, in some ways it resembles European countryside. I would like to drive around there and see some other parts of PA as well as the other neighboring states. (I may get a chance to do that really soon. One of my next projects should be filming there this coming Fall so it would be a good excuse for me to go up there again.) In any case, don’t miss the screening of “Badland” in October. You may find more information regarding the screening on their website http://badlandfilm.com. Thank you again for your compliments regarding my music.

Best,
Ludek Drizhal

I'm interested to know the context of Devils and Dust? Sounds like it's perfect for this movie.

Hi Damien,
The connection is the Iraq War, the American soldier and the long-lasting affects of war. Here is a great interview with Springsteen on NPR about the album and the song <http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4616189>; Maybe the producer or the director can address this in more detail if they read your question, I feel that they would be better qualified to explain. If you are in L.A. or NYC don’t miss your chance to see the film this October.

Best,
Ludek Drizhal
