The Beeb to axe this show?

I have heard a rumour that due to the BBC owing a lot of money, several of their shows are being axed and this is one of them! 'Spooks' was also mentioned as possibly being axed.

Does anyone know if there is any truth in this? I saw the final episode last night, and whilst there were a few loose ends, it didn't exactly end on a big cliffhanger, which would signal there will definitely be a new series.

I absolutely love this show, and the thought that it might never return terrifies me! I e-mailed BBC over a fortnight ago and they have not responded...which has heightened my fear even more!
