Stupid Greedy man - Wesley

I just watched a rerun of a contestant who was offered over $300,000. Just 4 cases left and one was $1,000,000 and the others were $10,000, $5,000 and $25.00. He and his family were sure the million was in his case and his supporters seemed as if they though they were invincible. He turned down the offer of over $300,000 and ended up with $25.00 Why are people so darn greedy?

I just watched a similiar one. The lady had a $180,000 offer. Her cases were $300,000...$1...$5....$750,000. She turned it down.

BOOM...Knocks out the $750k case..offer goes to $80k...she turns it down...BOOM...knocks out the $300k case. Left with $5.

My very simple plan would be to keep going as long as there was two large amounts with one case to pull per round. Once there is only one large case left; take the next offer.

My son and I watch this and when there's one large case left and the fool keeps going, we root for them to blow it.

What people don't seem to understand is that they are gambling "their" money in the hopes to make more money. They don't understand that when they are offered an amount, it is their money. In other words, if you have an offer of 100K dollars, that's your money. Would these contestants bring 100K from home (assuming they had it or could raise it) to gamble to get 500K at 5-1 odds?

Fools and their money will always be soon parted. It's the same with large lottery winners..
