What happened to the prostitute?
Ok so he's giving her a place to live, money- and then all of a sudden he's getting married to that other woman but no mention of the prostitute??

We just finished watching the movie. I had the same quwstion!
My hubby says John killed her. Remember, the last thing we saw was where she realized John gave her an old sweater... found the bag of same smell clothes, and a suitcase with more old clothes. She probably thought ~ this is weird, confronted him about it, then told him she was leaving. We know what happens when a woman tries to leave John.
BTW ~ WE don't really think that incident happened...how could we know of it? Assuming there might have been such incidents is more than likely where that came from.
I hope the remains found recently will prove to be those of Fran,then hopefully that will keep him locked up, otherwise (unless paroled?) he could be out in 4 years!

At the end of the movie, it said he got 15 to life. With our screwed up Judicial System, he could be out any day.
As to the prostitute, I had the same question. You had to infer that she disappeared after the basement scene, but I would have liked to have seen something more substantial as to her fate. Thought it kinda odd though, that a hooker would agree to set up house - lotta lost wages there.

That movie plays ALL the time.
Maybe I wondered if she went to the police....Now I'm thinking,
the prostitute was getting a cool deal, well provided for, a place to live, etc., but when she realized those were used clothes, and John is too FREAKY, I think she just took off (if it even happened)and in a HURRY!! John probably just shrugged it off ;)
