this TV movie has been horrible, it has almost no resmblence to the book what so ever. Characters have been removed or changed, locales and characters backstories are completely different. and what the hell is with anjelica houston as president, stupid, no need to replace castilla. and covert-one isn't suposed to exist until the end of the book, castilla is supposed to create it b/c of the hades virus incident. and colm meaney as peter howell, i mean i like colm meaney but he is not peter howell, howell was supposed to be a very suave foremer MI6 agent. this TV movie is a disgrace to the literature, unneceesary changes were made. oh and the whole afghanistan plot didn't exist in the book, it was Iraq and many other countries i can not recall (Guantanomo Bay incident didn't happen either). and whats with changing characters names for no reason.

f'ed up screeplay = f'ed up for movie

i hope they dont make any more covert one novels into TV movies. woudl be better for the cinema, with better writing and casting and direction.

I thought they weren't faithful. It was a disgrace to the story but viewing it without knowledge of the story it was better than some other things. Notably E-Ring.

I'm not surprised that this film was not faithful to the book. The Bourne films didn't follow the books very much, but this wasnt a bad thing. I enjoyed the movie "The Bourne Identity" so much, that I read the book. THE BOOK SUCKS. On top of that, I didnt learn my lesson the first time and (painfully) read "The Bourne Supremacy" before that film came out. Again, MAJOR portions of the book (including major plotlines) had been changed for the film. I still havent decided if the changes made the film better. The film was ok, definitely not as good as the first one.

I havent read any Covert One books, but it may not matter. I may hate them and love this film, if previous experience is any indication.

The Covert-One series can be predictable a times, but I want to know what twists you are thinking about.

thanks for the advice on the movie I nearly rented it because I loved the book but after reading what everyone here has said I would have been pissed if I had paid money to rent or even worse buy the DVD
