weak at best. Overacting on Michael Ironside's part. Flashbacks overused in modern cinema and that is a perfect example. Conspiracy theories, please! Of all the Vietnam flicks i've seen it's the first on that bored me!

Michael Ironside didn't overact at all, puh-lease.. if anything, the other performers under-acted.. but the movie was actually quite good until the far-fetched, abrupt, unhappy ending.

And wtf was up with those credits?? At least 15 speaking parts, but only 6-7 names on the cast list on the credits.. and Casper Van Dien got his name 4th on the pre-movie credits, but isn't listed at all in the end credits..

It's out on DVD in Scandinavia right now by the way..

I agree that it seemed farfetched, but I still found it to be OK. Actually, I'll give it a better than OK.

The combat scenes were a little more chaotic than normal though. I am aware that war is chaos, but I have normally gotten a better feel for who was in the group of main characers.

I am guessing this is a case of good manners:

One of thie things that made it interesting is that Doc, Raymond, and Sara all displayed characteristics of not being the chareacters they were initially portrayed as almost from the very beginning. Also, I think that Raymond resembles Denzel Washington and had a strong Manchurian Candidate vibe going on at the end.

I saw this movie on TV for the first time tonight, Aug 2012.
I sat thru the movie trying to figure out what the plot was, and at the end realised that Ironside character was homesexual, then they burst into the room and he gets shot .Can someone please tell me why ?

The twist that was at the end went straight over my head, was it to stop the American public from knowing that there were homosexual soldiers in the U.S. army ?
A pretty feeble idea, as they have been in every army in every war in the past, (or perhaps it was thought that the public were not that perceptive.)
Anyway, was that the twist, or something I missed completly ?

Pretty mediocre, but I've seen a lot worse. I think it's certainly better than the current 2.7 it's rated here - at least a 5. I picked it up as a rental just because of Ironside & Sheedy. The acting from Sheedy seems stiff and Ironside is a little over the top, but it seems to fit his character. (I just don't think he handles a victim role that well.)

Still, I thought the filming was decent and the war scenes, while not memorable were pretty good. The ending did leave me scratching my head. I got the feeling there were chunks of the plot that lay on a cutting room floor somewhere.
