I'm not a big anime fan, but saw "Gin-iro no Kami no Agito" and must say that I was impressed by the powerful and naturalistic visuals.
If only they had come up with a more original story! It is too similar in its basic concept to Miyazaki's "Kaze no Tani no Naushika".
But then I guess that there are not many other plot possibilities, when the topic is anime & nature.
Or does anyone know a good anime dealing with nature with a completely different, unique story?

And I agree with the OP. Very weak and predictable story, though nice visuals.
This could have been presented in a different light. Perhaps restoring the past may have been the better outcome, but they had to present the guy (forgot his name) as being as being duplicitous, unethical, and deceitful. You know half way in that his way would not work and would be shown in evil light. I was siding with him because I thought it made more sense, but it wasn't going to be a possible solution because the movie is too green friendly.
