This was really good and I loved it BUT......
did anyone else think that this is really similar to Castle in The Sky....??

Really? I would not think so. For one, Castle in the Sky was an amazing film, and Origin, despite starting off really well, never reached the same level.
i mean like the hero a young boy... trying to save the young girl and a big powerful weapon that could destroy the world..... and the bad guy wanting it..... i mean very similar undertones u have to admit.... or am I wrong....
But Castle in the sky was a really good movie... I was just saying that much of background idea had to of come for that..
It definitely bears some resemblances to Laputa and Nausicaa, and definitely had a potential to be something more than it was... I think the director was attempting to make something Ghibli is really good at, but only looked at the superficial bits and the animation and forgot about the message.
Yes, definitely forgot the message or maybe forgot how to represent the message in the movie. It felt rushed towards the end and lost at the same time.

I don't think the message was forgotten so much as it was not developed as well as Ghibli.
