Could Jane Campion make a 17min. jewel to shine in this omnibus feature?

If Herr Wenders could get back on track (his last movie helped me realize this is possible), it would be a very pleasent thing. If Campion did half as good a job with "The Water Diary", as she has with her past shorts of the '80's("A Girl's Own Story", "Peel", "Passionless Moments", et alia), it could be a wonderous thing. 'Holy Smoke' flirted with wonderment, but 'In the Cut' only gave it passing coy glances. I want the old Jane of 'Sweetie' & 'Portrait of a Lady" -steeped fully in wonder and passionate intelligence- to come back as a signifigant force in the cinema. It's had to argue her as being one of the finest directors today, when only three movie have been produced in the last ten years by Jane, even if one of them was the greatest highly flawed movie of all time (Lady). I'll leave Gasper Noe for others to sort out, if he'll ever become signifigant in any way, except in the glut of his mock-misanthropic pessimism.

I agree, Jane needs another jewel in her crown; however, I disagree that Portrait of a Lady is the greatest highly flawed movie of all time. I don't believe anything Jane has produced can be construed as that bad but I would agree that In The Cut is the worst film in her catalog. I'm hoping Bright Star will help her overcome past issues and that once again, she will be a force to be reckoned with.
