I can't agree with you more. It's not the greatest documentary, but it is a very important one. As one who has worked in this business, I met a grip who survived totaling his car by driving it into a ditch after a 17 hour day. And am friends with a person who knew Michael Stone, who tragically lost his life in a head-on collision. I myself was once so tired from an indie shoot driving home at 2am in the morning I missed my exit on the freeway. I may as well have been driving drunk.
Sadly, there are so many people desperate to work in the film business they'll do almost anything, including put their lives on the line by working 19 hour days on almost no sleep. Making maters worse, a majority of industry workers are so happy to be in movies, and making good overtime money to work, they don't support Wexler's call.
